Suggest Treatment For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I am a 43 yr old woman and I am having more than just a heavy period, I have had this checked recently but this period, it appears I am loosing the lining from my uterus, I don't have any pain or discomfort and I am 100% certain that I am not miscarrying. I have been through 5 tampons in the last hour.... I don't feel faint or nausea but am concerned with the level of blood loss. Should I see a doctor immediately or should I wait till Monday morning??
Brief Answer:
Wait till monday morning is bleeding decreases by next 12 hours
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about heavy bleeding.
Following is my reply:
1) Heavy bleeding generally reduces on its own with in 12 hours and becomes less. Flow will reduce.
2) Hence wait for 12 hours and see if bleeding is reducing. If there is reduction in flow then you can wait till Monday appointment.
3) If bleeding increases then you can see doctor immediately.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya
