default
Posted on Wed, 26 Apr 2017
Question: Hello, I've been getting a high fever every time I'm on my 4th or 5th day of my period for the past few months. I have really bad periods. Heavy bleeding and horrible cramps. I take ibuprofen for my cramps but I recently switched to naproxen for my cramps because ibuprofen stopped working. I am not sure what is going on. I will have the fever for about 3-4 days.

Brief Answer:
Familial Mediterranean fever

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, there are a number of possibilities for your condition :
1) pelvic inflammatory disease, if you are sexually active a sexually transmitted bacteria can go up vagina into uterus and cause an inflammation .
this will be treated with a course of antibiotics
2) endometriosis which means that the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus and needs diagnosis by ultrasound
3) familial Mediterranean fever which is a tar genetic condition that causes attacks of fever with any stressful condition that body goes through including the menstrual cycle in females
4) toxic shock syndrome, if you use tampons, it can cause a serious infection that requires medical attention
I hope I answered your question. if you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion.
