Suggest Treatment For Hematoma Hard Lump
not be concerned
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Most hematomas will resolve on its own without any treatment however a few of them will require surgical intervention especially if it becomes septic.
I suggest you to do the following
1. Tab enractin is a good drug to reduce inflammation. I give it twice daily for 5 days
2. Avoid squeezing or meddling with the swelling
3. If the swelling becomes increasingly painful or you start developing fever then it means that it has turned into an abscess which requires drainage
It is usual for the redness to come down below especially if the hematoma is below the fascia so don't worry about that
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards
please do not continue to run
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for getting back
I am sorry for the short delay in my reply, there was a family emergency. I usually get back within 12 hours.
It is normal for redness to migrate below the hematoma but the fact that it is sore indicates that there is still some amount of inflammation.
Here is what you should do
1. Continue to ice and warm the area of soreness.
2. Please do not run until the soreness is better. It might worsen it
3. I recommend that you get a ultra sound of the hematoma to rule out it forming an abscess
4. Tab acetaminophen is the ideal tablet for the soreness, it can be taken three times a day
I hope I was of help
