Question: During Bowel movements, there is a soft protrusions that protrude from the rectal cavity. Once the Bowel movement is completed, the protrusions usually returns inside the rectal cavity. I was informed by a nurse that is was most likely a prolapsed rectum. I want to clarify that there is no itching, burning, or discomfort during or after the bowel movement. Just the protrusion.
Brief Answer:
Most likely they are hemorrhoids.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for query.
Most likely you are having grade 2 hemorrhoid.
Hemorrhoid in physiological state act as a cushion composed of arterio-venous channels and connective tissue in the rectum that aid the passage of stool, but due to excess pressure in the abdominal area or pelvic area blood vessels near the anus are engorged and swollen and their walls becomes stretched, thin and irritated by passing stool.
I would suggest you to go to a surgeon for examination of rectum by a proctoscope.
Once diagnosis is confirmed treatment could be started accordingly.
If you want to know the treatment kindly revert back.
Regards
