Suggest Treatment For Herpes Rashes

Question: The other thread is not letting me answer to you.

She is active, no increase in the rash, looks like it is less seen compared to yesterday. She is eating normal as usual. No issues with urination, and no fever.

Got an appointment with Dermatologist for Monday.

We sleep together is there any risk, and she plays with her toys what should we do to make sure it doesn't comes back if it is something bad.

As you observed it is small and can't clearly see or feel with. I assume the herpes would be something like burn blisters due to fire injury right?

Hi.... thank you for posing a direct query to me.

It is confirmed that this is not herpes. Herpes Rash will not go away like this. It is usually appears as fluid filled Bubbles are vesicles which gradually increase as the time progresses with lot of itching. But nothing has happened and the Rash is gone. So it is hundred percent confirmed that this is not herpes.

Coming to your other queries if you do not want this to recur you can clean all her toys with anti septic solutions like dettol or any other clinical hand rub.

Even if you all three sleep together you need not worry as this does not seem to be contagious.

Coming to the answers which you have given to my questions she seems to be well kid. Please do not worry.

the rash is there but it is not red, but she is saying it is itching. She got nasal congestion like cold with running nose.

She is saying it is itching on the nose. but there is no fever or the blisters are not formed at least for now.

Hi....cold and running nose signify that it could be a simple viral illness.

Cold and running nose are viral 95% of the times in children. For cold you can use anti-allergics like cetirizine and for nose block, saline nasal decongestants will do.

Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly, that too only if fever is more than 100F.

I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.

For cold you can use Cetrizine at 0.25mg/kg/dose every 12 hourly for 3 days. But this is a prescription drug.

For nasal block, plain saline nasal drops will do, every 4-6th hourly to relive nasal congestion.

There is no fever which is good news. The only worry was Rash and hope it will go away soon.

Hi Doc,

She said she had itching on her chin and nose bridge, anything to worry?
I applied hydrocortisone and she said ti s not itching anymore.

Hi....just for itching do not apply hydrocortisone please. These small itches are self limiting. It could be because of cold she might be having this rubbing of nose sensation also.

Should I leave it as it is ? it is around the Chin and nose bridge. I will not apply again .Vasaline? if it is due to the weather as it is cold ? its between 3 degree to 12 degree Celsius outside. Can dry skin cause itches too?

She says it is itching, took the pic just a while ago and the rash is not growing or no new rash. Redness is gone. Attaching the picture.
