Question: I am 54, I have been under stress lately, concerning family, I was feeling under the weather..my left ear started to bother me so I put 'debrox' drops in both ears didn't seem to do anything, that was monday, then tuesday, l felt pain in my throat, left side. Thought it was a cold coming on. No cough, but umph node swollen. Then I was getting sharp pains in the opening of my left ear, the kind that made you stop and pay attention. That started wednesday. Also on wed. I noticed sores on the outside of my back gums, then on the inside od my left cheek, only mildly painful.thursday night I noticed red sores appearing on the outside of my chin.only on the left side. I went to the dr. But he seemed to

think it was just the herpes virus..give it a couple of days and see. The sores are now on the outside of my left cheek, are very painful, constant pain, like little needle pricks. Lymph node still slightly swollen painful, it somehow moves
around, now its under my jaw. Also my teeth hurt. Left side was top and bottom, then just bottom, now includes my front bottom teeth. I dont have as many sharp pains in my ear anymore. But my left side if my face is in constant pain, and I have a headache in the back of my head, left side, started at bottom of my head, moved to middle-left side, now on the top of my head. The sores on my face started out looking like swollen pimples, red. Now are kind of grouping together. And the white little sores in my mouth are creeping out over my lip and my lip, on left side, is swollen.

Brief Answer:
Herpes viral infection, medication

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the soreness over the cheek, gums and children is concerned, it can be because of herpes virus infection.

You should take a course of systemic and topical antiviral drugs like acyclovir. In addition for pain you can take topical anesthetics like lignocaine. These are the possible diagnosis and treatment plan based on the description of the lesion provided by you.

Please upload the images of the lesion if possible.

I hope I have answered your query. if you have any queries reply me back.

Take care
