Suggest Treatment For Herpes

Not very likely to not have any recurrence in 4 years
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
The answer to your question will depend on many factors.
First, Herpes in males gives less evident symptoms.
Second, it depends if he has HSV-1 type or HSV-2, because the type one gives less recurrences in a year.
Now, the average recurrence is 4 times per year (by statistics), after the fourth year, and it's said that these recurrences increase in frequency after the fourth year.
I cannot say though if he has had it all along during these 4 years because it is unprobable to not have any recurrence for 4 years.
One other possible option may be the mistake of the lab. My recommendation is to double check by doing the tests again when possible.
Hope this is helpful.

The answer above still applies
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thank you for the follow up question. Sorry for the delay in my response.
The same answer (above mentioned) applies... the possible frequency of outbreaks is as mentioned above.
I still stand of the opinion that if he hasn't had any outbreak during all these years, he either got it recently or the lab is false positive and you should repeat it to confirm again (or if other outbreaks happen the diagnoses is confirmed).
I hope it makes sense, but please let me know if you need more clarifications.
Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
