Suggest Treatment For Hiatal Hernia And Chronic GERD

I have a hiatal hernia and chronic GERD and suffer from reflux regulary.
I take 20-40mg of omeprazol; and my question is this::
is it safe for me to take liquid Gavison once in a while also, around 10ml; because the symptoms sometimes doesn't go away, when I only take omeprazol.
If not, do you have safe alternatives for me to take as a extra relief ???
Please follow
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
You are reporting to have GERD and hiatal hernia.
You can use gaviscon(antacid) liquid 2-4 teaspoons per day after meal to relieve your symptoms. If your symptoms still persist after gaviscon use than you can increase omeprazole dosage up to 80 mg per day and start to use prokinetic drugs like domperidone.
It is important to know that lifestyle changes are really effective in cases like you.
So I suggest to :
- eat often and small amount of meal
- eat 3-4 hours before go to bed
- avoid fatty, chilly and spicy foods
- avoid coffee, chocolate and carbonated drinks
- avoid smoking and alcohol
- use two pillows when you lay down
- increase physical activity
- avoid unnecessary stress
Hope it was helpful to you!
