Suggest Treatment For High BP That Is Not Stabilizing With Ramipril Intake

Question: I have been taking 30 mg. Ramipril per day without much if any change in my blood pressure could another med. be added or should it be changed altogether. Thanks very much. XXXXXX

You should added amlodipine to your therapy.

I read your query and understood your concerns.

If 30 mg of ramipril doesn't stabilize your BP than another medication should added to your therapy. If you were my patient I would add amlodipine.

Since amlodipine is a medication you should discus with your doctor about the doses and mode of administration.

Hi back,

If you are taking 10 mg amlodipine than you are taking the maximal dose and I would like to suggest adding a diuretics to your therapy.

If you were my patient i would add hydroclortiaside as diuretics.
