Suggest Treatment For High BP While On Labebet During Pregnancy
Question: Dear Sir,
My wife is 32 weeks pregnant.She is suffering from High BP since last two or three weeks.It is 140/90 to 150/98 .Dr prescribed lebebet 100 mg once in a day.She is taking 2 tablets in day.But BP is still more than 140/90.Also baby movement is normal.Please advise us.she is 32 years old.It is her 1st pregnancy.height 5 feet and 2.5",weight 65.50 kg

If she has been taking the anti-hypertensive doses on her own, please make sure her consultant is aware of it. She may need to be put on additional anti-hypertensives if the blood pressure is not under control.
Regular monitoring, dietary adjustments that include avoidance of salts and spicy diets, getting proper rest preferably in the left lateral position, avoidance of all stressful situations and monitoring the fetal well being are mandatory.
If the urine output is normal, the sonographic findings do not show any evidence of premature calcification in the placenta and the uteroplacental flow is good, non-stress test and biophysical profile show good fetal activity, she can be put on observation with regular treatment. Else, she may need hospitalization for more aggressive therapy and if necessary, early intervention.
