Suggest Treatment For High BP
Question: Hello Dr. Im a 68 years old male from India, currently taking Amlong 2.5 once daily, I checked my BP today and it is 85/153 seems really high.. Should I increase the dosage on Amlong if so by how much?
Brief Answer:
no need to increase the dose
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
BP of 85/153 is not really high for your age. It is pretty normal for a known hypertensive to have this kind of reading.
I would not suggest you to increase the dose of Amlong instead take a deep breath and relax for a few hours. A short healthy peaceful nap should reduce your blood pressure. You need not take extra medicine for the same.
Keep yourself calm, and go for a pleasant evening walk. Check your blood pressure after 8 hrs, it should be fine by then.
Take care!

Thanks Dr. for the prompt reply. Just wanted let you know that my BP has been around t 85/150 mark for the third consecutive day and hence the concern. Thanks Again Dr. for the advice.
Brief Answer:
The reading is still fine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for writing back.
A consistent blood pressure of 85/150 for 3 consecutive days is a good control for a known hypertensive person like you. In fact, I am happy with the reading, and would advise you to continue the same medicine in the same dosage.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
