Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
There are a lot of lifestyle and dietary changes that help to lower and stabilize your BP. If you were my patient I would have recommended as follows:
- Reduce salt intake by avoiding eating salty foods (cheese, ham and sausages, fast foods etc.)
- Avoid caffeine, energy drink and carbonated drinks
- Reduce the alcohol consumption to a glass of wine per day
- increase physical activity
- loose weight
- take magnesium supplements
- take Omega 3 fish oil
- Avoid using Advil or other NSAID because they raise your BP
If after three months the BP will be still above 140/90 mm Hg than you should start immediately antihypertensive medication.
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

I have been drinking a lot of seltzer(carbonated) water but I never thought much of it, but I will stop it right away.
Also, what is the correct weight for my age( female, 60).
Thanks

Hi back,
Cod liver oil to contain Omega 3 fats and may be of help in stabilizing your BP to. Since you are taking Cod liver oil for the moment you should continue with it for at least one month of diet and life changes. If after a month the BP will persist to be high you should add omega 3 fish oil (together with cod liver oil).
The correct weight is calculated based on your height. Can you send me your height please?
