Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure

was diagnosed with High blood pressure about two years ago and started taking 20 mg. losartan which was effective for about 12 hrs. Just switched to telismartan but it seems it is not as effective?? Am taking 40 mg. per day and BP stays around 145/85 most of the time. I just switched drugs about three weeks ago.
any suggestions? Thank you so much. (both parents took anti-hypertensives and my sister, who is three years younger does as well) I exercise regularly and have for my entire life. Diet is really good, too.
XXXX p.s. *I recently moved and the physician I saw is not one I would choose again, but she gave me the prescription.
Probably best to stick with losartran, other possibilities explained below
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
i am sorry to hear that your new doc was rude. Even though 145/85 is only slightly higher than normal, if you were running better with losartran, then its probably best to not switch a winning team. Other possibilites are to raise the dosage of telmisartran to 80 mg or to combine telmisartran with another medication like a so called ca-antognist like verapamil or similar.
That way your bp will surely go lower than 140 systolic which would be more ideal. But even with 145/80 with your healthy lifestyle it is possible to become 94 years old.
So i may suggest also looking for a doctor who you get along with better and who listens to your concerns better and doesn't make rude comments like that.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards

Your message was more helpful than the doctor was with me personally. And you showed me more hope and kindness. Much appreciated!
All the best to you,
XXXX
