Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure
J
Blood pressure lowering agents
Detailed Answer:
Greetings and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Thank you for your question.
Well, it is observed that male patients aged 76 years old, have blood pressure in the higher range. If this is the case, drinking extra water would give results after one has urinated, eliminating excess salt from the organism, thus reducing the blood pressure. Valium (diazepam) would also work if some stressful event has generated this kind of blood pressure figure. The dark chocolate certainly has nothing to do with spikes of high blood pressure.
Since I am assuming he is already on medication with blood pressure-lowering agents (please let me know if i'm wrong), there are some physiological circumstances which are associated with high blood pressure, such as strenuous physical activity, excess psychological stress, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine-containing beverages etc.
Regarding this moment, I think it was a good "call" to take a diazepam and have his blood pressure measured half an hour after he has taken it. Also after he has urinated.
I hope I was of help with my answer. I am happy to help, if you have any follow-up questions.
Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
