Suggest Treatment For High Blood Pressure
Question: My husband had a stent in his heart put in in December, but since then he has had no change in his blood pressure, it is still high. His shortness of breath is getting worse. Should we go to the ER
Is this being answered by a cardiologist?
Could the stent have a problem? This is what I think.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that if his blood pressure values are constantly high (above 165/95 mm Hg) and if his difficulty breathing persists, I would recommend going to the nearest ER service.
You should know that hypertensive crisis can lead to serious damage in several body organs (brain, eye, heart, kidneys).
High blood pressure doesn't have any abrupt adverse effects on the implanted coronary stent, but can damage the blood vessels when it persists for a long time.
Meanwhile I recommend taking one tablet of 25mg Captopril sublingual.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
