Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXXXXXXX, Welcome back to HCM,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your daughter,
From the description, it seems like infection only (in children, mostly it's viral infection of the stomach and/ gut), so needs to be kept under strict supervision..
The fever needs to be controlled in the first place.. You can give her Syp PARACETAMOL for reducing the fever, dosage in child depends on their weight. The usual dose is 10-15 mg per kilogram of body weight. In other words, if a baby weighs 10 kg, it should have 10 x 10-15mg, which is 100-150 mg. This dose can be taken once every 4 to 6 hours, up to 4 times in 24 hours, if needed.
Also Remember, that ‘mg’ is a measure of weight and ‘mL’ is a measure of fluid volume. So, for example, if the strength of a bottle of paracetamol syrup is 100 mg/mL, then a 10 kg baby needs 100-150 mg which is only 1-1.5 mL of syrup.
Since you haven't mentioned her present body weight here, just calculate the appropriate dose based on her body weight at first to decide on the dosage to be given in the first place. However, I'd recommend a single dose to be given now, and observe how she stays in the next 2-3 hrs and record the body temperature in between, if not getting down then only repeat the second dose after 4 hrs..
Since she's 7 months old, so try to find out if there's any new food/drink initiated recently, as it can be the offending agent..
Strictly give her boiled/mineral water only, and no out side foods..perhaps breastfeeding for now will be a better option..
If despite following this, there's no improvement of symptoms, the baby becomes more irritable, reject feeding, then please don't delay any longer and take her to your nearest children's hospital/ ER for a prompt check-up in the first place..
Do let me know how stays in the due course..
Take Care
Kind Regards
