Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Cough
Question: My son (22 months old), is suffering from fever & cough. today is fifth day. I went to doctor yesterday morning. she said it looks viral but due to cough,fever may come again. when I give fever medicine,fever comes down to some extent not completely. for 2 days,now he is too dull. not eating anything.only water. right now giving paracetamol & levolin.
not sure what to do.. is it viral or something else?

Since your child is suffering from repeated bouts of fever and cough, it seems to be an upper respiratory tract infection, the causative organisms of which can be viral or bacterial. The most common causative organism being bacterial.
Therefore, I would suggest you to consult with a pediatrician and provide details of repeated fever and cough, and get a prescription for antibiotics. The medicines given will treat the cough, but the recurrence of fever shows that there is probably an infective source. Also give nebulization twice daily till the congestion relieves.
