Suggestions on recurrent fever

Detailed Answer:
Hi...thank you for getting back with the details.

With the weight percentile being normal and keeping in mind the history provided by you, I put forth these possibilities -

1. Recurrent viral illness.
2. Urinary tract infection
3. Prolonged viral illness
4. Least and rarest possibility Lymphoreticular Malignancy with high fevers.

I suggest you do -

1. Complete blood count and peripheral smear examination.
2. Urine routine and nitrites.
3. Renal function testing.
4. Liver function tests.
5. Serum LDH.
6. Serum uric acid.

Meanwhile I will explain you how a viral illness presents -

Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.

Brief Answer:
This might be malaise associated with illness

Detailed Answer:
Hi...this is malaise due to viral illness and can be a chronic fatigue associated with prolonged viral illness or recurrent viral illness too.

I suggest you get back to your local pediatrician and get the suggested tests done and proceed further. Your son needs to be evaluated definitely.
