Question: Uric Acid of my mother is around 7. I just want to know whether treatment is available or not and which doctor should i consult

Brief Answer: treatment is available. Detailed Answer: Treatment is available for high uric acid.In the form of medication and diet restriction. If her problem is associated with joint symptoms then she needs to consult a rheumatologist, however if she only has a high uric acid she needs to be seen by a general physician. I would suggest at this level of uric acid if she restricts sea food, meat , soft drinks and generally reduces calorie intake her uric acid level should come in the normal range.
