Suggest Treatment For Hives All Over Body

Question: My 13 year old son has broken out in a bad case of hives all over his body. It began on his arms, back and chest, has traveled down to this legs and feet. They seem to have gotten bigger even with Benadryl. He is currently taking Minocycline for acne. He had another serious breakout a few weeks ago but we were in Florida and attributed it to the Minocycline and too much sun combination. We are in Glenview, IL now and not sure what has caused this outbreak.

Brief Answer:
Hives

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
Firstly, we have to treat the hives. I recommend taking a long acting antihistamine like loratidine or cetirizine (benadryl is a short acting antihistamine). He can take one dose per day for 7 days.
Next, we need to find out what is causing the reactions. For this you would need to consult with an allergist. Your primary care doctor should be able to recommend a good one for you.
