Suggest Treatment For Hoarseness In Voice
Question: I am having hoarseness in voice for the last 1.5 months now. There is no other problem in throat, just the voice is not clear.
Have also attended a vocal therapy session and i am suggested an exercise which I am doing, but still no relief. Now am getting more concerned as the problem is for a long time now and am facing trouble in my day to day affairs.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I see similar cases amongst young people who visit my clinic, this hoarseness voice could be due to
The First possibility is Acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux).
The Second possibility is Overuse or abuse of the voice (as in shouting or singing), which may cause swelling or growths on the vocal cords,
the third possibility is Colds or sinusitis or allergic rhinitis or lower respiratory infections.
the fourth possibility is Breathing irritating substances like perfumes, environmental dust. consuming chilled drinks or ice creams.
the fifth possibility is Heavy smoking or drinking,causing Cancer of the throat or larynx.
I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get laryngoscopy,complete blood picture to rule out infections, x-ray chest to see lung related causes like tuberculosis. ct neck or xray neck or ultrasound neck to rule out any thing compressing the nerve supplying the vocal card.throat secretions culture to rule out the causative organisms.
mean time you need to give absolute voice rest, stop smoking or alcohol, continue steam inhalation, correct your sinus problem by medications or surgery.correct your acid reflux by ppi inhibitors (pantaprazole) for 4-6 weeks. whispering and shouting should be stopped.

Sir,
I have already got all of my tests done and the reports and prescriptions are also enclosed. Currently, I am seeing a homeopathic doctor who is working on sinusitis as in the CT there are traces of sinus seen in all my pores. All other tests are normal except increased WBC count. Just wanted to have a confirmation from you that my treatment is going in this right direction.
