Brief Answer:
definitely sounds like an allergic response

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

This is a definite possibility. Hoarseness is one of the symptoms that can occur with as part of an allergic response.

In most cases, it is accompanied by a post nasal drip of mucus. 1 in 5 are not aware of the drip itself but only have the complications, in your case this is loss of your voice, in others it may be a cough.

Treatment would optimally involve avoiding cigarette smoke whenever possible or using medications such as an anti histamines and decongestant combination.

EG zyrtec d, claritine d, allegra d, benadryl d

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
