Suggest Treatment For Hydrocele
Male 27
Got hit with a cricket ball painful testicle.
Got looked at by a doctor said i had hydrocele a small one.
First ultrasound scan showed a small hyrodrocele.
Since than i have a had a physIcal examination by two private GPs and they have checked my testicle and they have said that the hydrocele has disappeared.
I have uploaded a photo do my testicles look normal.
My left testicle seems to be lower and theres a soft feeling by the epidymis tail. My doctor goes that it is normal and a hydrocele will never appear above the tail.
Is it normal for this area to be soft, i have uploaded two pictures. I have got it checked but still worry of why the left testicle hangs lower may be a little bit bigger.
Also the centre seam of the testicle isnt in the centre it is tilted at times is this normal? And should i just take the doctors opinion and draw the line.
Please check pica
A physical exam may not be enough to detect small amounts of fluid
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I saw your pictures.
-- It is normal, and in every male, one testicle is slightly bigger then the other.
-- The pain from the tail of epididymus may be from the trauma that you got there. I would only expect though that that pain to be better and better and not worse. Worse pain may indicate an infection of the epididymus.
-- A small hydrocele may not always be visible by hand palpation, but every bit of hydrocele liquid will be visible in an ultasound. So the best test to do is to repeat the ultrasound. And the hydrocele may be still there, but what we would require is for the amount of it to be reduced. An ultrasound would also check the epididymus and confirm that there is not current signs of infection. And would also confirm if the left testicle is bigger because that is normal for you, it it is bigger because there is some amount of fluid in it, even if small enough as to not be able to be palpated.
Hope this is helpful.

From the pictures does everything look normal?
There isnt any pain to be honest.
From what I see in the photos, everything looks normal.

Hello,
Thank you for the follow up question.
Yes, from the pictures, everything seems normal.
The fact that there is no pain, that is reassuring.
Anyway (and this is not urgent), when you can afford, I would still insist to do a ultrasound, so you follow up and make sure that the fluid is absorbed completely.
