Suggest Treatment For Hypertension And Hyperaldosteronism
Question: I have mutation 3926 of the 5ì of the gene APC with deletion of 5 bp. Also i have hyperaldosteronism and, after have had surrenalectomy on 2008 for an adreno cortical adenoma (coon syndrome), ny hyperaldosteronism is ever high. Since it is due to APC mutation and acting by SGK1, may be my hypertension be related to? I have had never diagnosed such last health problems, but when i exercise or make mouvment ny blood pressure raise to 170 for systiolic and 103 for diastolic. recently the problem has made more evident. How may I treat, if I may, such problem and avoid that ectasia of the ascendent aorta may become aneurysm? Proteinuria whose level are 280 may be consequetial to hyperthension and may I wait damages to kidneys, whose embriogenesis, organogenesis, morphogenesis APC/Wnt controll and govern? a recento ecography founf genes at inferior level of XXXXXXX when precedent ecograpkis codified for kidney of normal dimension? kind regards claudio alpaca

High bp in patients with age >60yrs is generally multifactorial. As the age increase the walls of blood vessels become thickened & subsequently the blood pressure goes high. Hyperaldosteronism can be a cause but pointing a single cause is very difficult. Exercise can also cause rise in bp but that is temporary & gets back to normal within some time of termination of exercise.
Protein in urine can be because of hypertension but that occurs when hypertension is uncontrolled for long time. So you need to check for diabetes also & get a ultrasound of kidneys done to see for any associated abnormality.
Your bp is definitely high & that should be treated. Also get a kidney function test done so that specific drugs which prevent further kidney damage can be started. Until than start Tab Amlodipine 5mg once daily.
