Suggest Treatment For Hypertension

Question: I am a very healthy 45 year old female, weight 122lbs, height 5'4". I do not smoke, I eat vegan (salads/fruits/vegetables/beans/nuts/seeds) 90% of the time. I make sure my sodium intake is less than 1500mg/day. I stopped my birth control pills about 4 weeks ago. I exercise 6 days per week (run/aerobics). I also meditate/use a breathing machine (resperate) to help lower blood pressure. I have 1-2 cups of coffee/tea per day. I have about 4 alcoholic drinks per week. Here's my problem, I have high blood pressure readings, for about 6 months now and I do not want to take any type of prescription medication. My reading this morning was 143/100. Nothing seems to help lower my pressure, what can I do - naturally? I don't want to take diuretics/ace inhibitors/beta blockers for the rest of my life! Please help, I am very scared/frustrated as I live a healthy lifestyle.

Dear Ms
As you have tried diet and life style medication your blood pressure is still high. As per the recent studies anti hypertensive drugs are indicated for all individuals who are hypertensive. Regular intake of anti hypertensive drugs is known to significantly decrease cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
Life style and diet modifications just for a part of treatment.
I would recommend you to start anti hypertensive in best interest of you.
Take care
