I understand your concern for your husband's health.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is an abnormal thickening of the muscles of the heart.
It can be asymptomatic or may produce irregularity of heart beats.
Non obstructive cardiomyopathy produces very little symptoms and has a better prognosis than the obstructive variety which decreases the blood flow though the left ventricular outflow tract. As the abnormal muscle does not relax well, there is a diastolic dysfunction. In your husband's case the disease appears to be mild.
I would be interested in seeing your husband's transthoracic echocardiogram report in full. If you are not able to upload the images, please upload the report.
If the disease does not progress further, there is good prognosis

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is usually caused by abnormal genes (mutations) that cause the heart muscle to grow abnormally thick. Here the thickness of the heart muscle is not uniform. Chronic hypertension also is a common cause for left ventricular hypertrophy. In such patients the heart muscle thickening is uniform.
Aging, diabetes and hypertension are also listed as causes of hypertensive cardiomyopathy but the usual reference is to the variety caused by gene mutation.

If it is due to hypertension, it would be good news as the good control of blood pressure would prevent its progression and the hypertrophy may regress.
