My query
1. Is the above results are alarming
2. Is prescribed medicine is ok to normalize the situation
3. For how long I have to take this medicine
4. Any do /don’t list to be followed in daily life
You are having Hashimoto's hypothyroidism
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having an under functioning thyroid (hypothyroidism) due to increased antibodies - anti TPO - in your blood. This is called Hashimoto's hypothyroidism.
Regarding your questions:
1. These results are not alarming - your thyroid is producing less hormones than needed for body
2. The medication is ok. You can retest the thyroid function (TSH, T4) after 2 months. If it is not below 4 miu/ml, you need to increase the dose. If it is below 0.5 you can decrease the dose after consulting a physician.
3. In Hashimotos's hypothyroidism - 90% you need to take the medications continuously. 10% can have an improvement and the dose can be decreased and stopped.
4. No diet modifications are recommended in Hashimoto's thyroid disease. The diet modifications like increased iodine (sea foods, iodized salt etc) and decreased consumption of cabbage, cauliflower etc are for iodine deficiency goiter. You just need to take the medications regularly in morning empty stomach. It is better to avoid food, tea, coffee for 1 hour after thyroid medications.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome back.
Noted the reports.
The prostate enlargement is unrelated to thyroid disease. Prostonil is a herbal preparation which can decrease the prostate size without much side effects. Bactosol is an antibiotic for urinary infection. Since the PSA (a test for prostate cancer) is normal, you need not be worried if you don't have any symptoms. You can continue with the medications prescribed by your urologist.
Your increased cholesterol may be related to hypothyroidism. Once thyroid function is normalised, we can adjust the dose of atorvastatin.
