Suggest Treatment For Impacted Wisdom Tooth

Posted on Mon, 26 Oct 2015
Question: The last molars on my lower jaw have not come out. As per X-ray, they are lying embedded in an horizontal position and are touching the regular teeth. I have started getting some discomfort while chewing or clinching the teeth on the left side. Should I get an surgery done to remove it?

Brief Answer:
Seems like an Impacted wisdom tooth. Yes, Surgical removal can be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like you have a horizontally impacted wisdom tooth and as it is touching the adjacent teeth it might be causing pressure over the roots of the molar tooth present just before it and it is the cause for discomfort in chewing or clenching..

In such cases the only treatment that can be done is to surgically remove the impacted wisdom tooth and the dentist has given you a correct advise to get it surgically removed.

Therefore you can very much proceed with the treatment as it is a correct line of treatment..

For further discussion you can send me the scan of the x ray that must be taken by the dentist for further evaluation and guidance..

If you have any further query you are most welcome. I will be happy to help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
