Hello XXXXXXX
Welcome again to the forum and thanks a lot for sending pictures.
Going through all the information as well the pictures I can get that you have mild to moderate grade of scars occurred after the healing of pimples.
It is evident from your pictures that you have "Post acne scars". These are the most problematic situation in the acne part. Once pimples are formed, if these are large enough then heals with deep scars and atrophic thin skin which gives rise to post acne scars.
There are certain suggestions which you can follow to reduce the further occurrence of scars:
1. Do not pinch, pop or squeeze any area on face.
2. Do not apply any creamy or oily stuff or any other cosmetics over face.
3. Try to avoid any home remedies suggested by your friends or family members or otherwise self implicated therapies also.
4. Try avoiding situations of direct continuous exposure to sunlight or heat and humidity for long hours.
5. Kindly do not use any antibiotic as self medication.
Now for the main part of the treatment there are two basic modalities:
1. Medical treatment: The medical treatment involves application of certain cream such “retinoic acid” or “glycoilic acid” or “azelaic acid” in different strengths for a variable period of time in dermatological guidance. These are slow to respond but are quite good as long term of managing the scars as well as pigmentation.
2. Procedural treatment: It involves various methods including chemical peeling or derma roller or lasers. A combined modality can also be used according to the clinical decision.
In my patients I combine medical treatment with various creams as mentioned above along with Procedural treatment with peels first and if required then go for dermaroller and lasers.
Generally monthly sittings are given for 3-4 months and if the scars are deeper then may need higher sittings. You can consult any good cosmetic dermatologist who has the facility and the same dermatologist would be guiding you best for the further course of treatment.
Hope these informations will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to help.
