Suggest Treatment For Indigestion After A Meal

Postprandial heaviness sign of functional dyspepsia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Thank you so much for posting query on this forum,
I've reviewed all your details and I appreciate your concern.
The symptom you are having is called postprandial fullness (a common sign that food is not properly digested in the gut).
As per the standard texts-
Postprandial fullness is defined as an unpleasant sensation like prolonged persistence of food in the stomach.
Just for your knowledge-
In the Rome III criteria which classify functional gastrointestinal disorders into four categories bothersome postprandial fullness is described as a major symptom of functional dyspepsia.
The primary aim of the stomach is to store food. The stomach contains hydrochloric acid which breaks down proteins and activates enzymes which act on the ingested food and digest it.
Researchers have shown that -" Bothersome postprandial fullness is prone to be present in situations where intragastric content rapidly flows into the duodenum."
As gastric contents pass into duodenum quickly they are not properly broken down by enzymes in stomach leading to severe fullness.
Suggestions-
Start taking external enzymes like Cap Aristozyme(otc) thrice daily 10 minutes before lunch break or dinner.
Take a prokinetic drug like Domperidone 10 mg twice daily(delays gastric emptying)-Prescription medicine.
Acotiamide 100mg thrice daily is very effective in treating postprandial heaviness and can be tried(prescription medicine).
Avoid drinking water 1-hour post meals.
Don't take a heavy meal at one time instead divide it into small meals every 4 hours.
Eat low-fat simple food for few days.
Avoid junk food and aerated beverages.
No alcohol or smoking.
Follow this for 10 days and let me know how you feel.
Wish you a great health and early recovery.
Regards.
