Suggest Treatment For Infected C-section Wound
Question: Yes, I have notice a bit of an odor coming from a C - Section incision that is 20 years old ( my son will be 21 in Dec). Today I realized it is irritated and very red. When I looked closer it seems like there is a hole in the incision. I just washed it and put an anti biotic cream on it but I am wondering if I need to have it looked at. It is Saturday Evening 10 pm here in St. XXXXXXX

Did you have any stress-full work for the abdomen in last few days/weeks?
Any jerks you got for the lower abdomen in last 2 days?Any give way feeling in last few days or just now?
Did it pain in last few days?
Did you got mesh for the repair any time later for the C-section wound for defective healing?
How was the post-operative recovery at that time?Any infection or gaping of the C-section wound that time?
Any anemia/ or any long term steroids for other medical illness?
Remedy-Suggested-
Take Rest,
Continue your dressing with Pressure dressing over it.
Abdominal support if need be.
If there is no pain or any distress currently,wait and watch for any more complaints.
Keep Nil By Mouth(NBM) after this.
If need be,check with ER-for any complication of the wound of the C-section.
Keep Me updated if need be,for any help anytime over night.
