Suggest Treatment For Infected Abscess On Palm

Question: Hello. There was a very tiny splinter looking object in my palm last night. It was relatively easy to squeeze out but a very small pale bump formed, and the bump stung to touch. I squeezed the bump today and a clear liquid comes out. It is still a bit painful and has redness around the bump. What could cause this? Could a splinter cause this?

Dear Madam,
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.
The splinter has been superinfected with staphylococcus bacteria. This has lead to formation of a XXXXXXX abscess on your palm. The skin of the palm is very tight and this causes pain. The redness is due to inflammation around the abscess.
This needs to be treated with an antibiotic like co-amoxiclav and the splinter needs to be removed from the palm. You may visit your primary care doctor to get that removed.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
