Suggest Treatment For Infection In Ear

Question: Recently I had some fungal infection in my left year and based on Doctor's opinion, I applied Candid O, twice a day for a week. Now the infection has subsided. However, I am having a crawling sensation in my left year. No pain. Just a feeling of a worm crawling in the ear or hair touching the skin. While having that sensation, if I touch my ear, the sensation becomes more intense. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
probably ear infection

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic,
Discharge from the ear can sometimes give rise to crawling sensation in the ear. The skin in the ear is very sensitive and even small quantity of discharge can give rise to such a sensation.
Please see your doctor to rule out infection and susbsequent discharge in your ear.
Very rarely worms (maggots) can be found inside the ear. Profuse ear discharge and poor hygiene promote growth of maggots inside the ear. Do not worry, I do not think that it is due to maggots.
Till you see your doctor keep your ears dry and do not try to clean or probe your ear.

Doctor, I am not talking about worms in my ears, I was talking about a crawling sensation in my ear. Come to think of it, I have been having this sensation for over two months now, recently it has become acute. Earlier I thought that this was a hair growth in my ear. But now I think it is something else.

Brief Answer:
have to be checked for infection and discharge
Detailed Answer:
Hello and sorry for the delay in response,
As I said sensation of worms crawling inside the ear commonly occurs when there is discharge in the ear. Eustachian tube dysfunction can also produce similar symptoms. The eustachian tube connects the ear to the nose. Blockage of this tube can produce the above symptoms.
Please get an ENT specialist to look inside your ear to rule out the above 2 mentioned causes.

Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
