Question: I am an iv user of crystal meth (going to rehab in september) and i hav a horrible infection that has turned into a growth jus under my tongue caused by a broken tooth. I was prescribed azithromycin for the infection. Because of my addiction i have not taken the azithromycin yet being afraid of mixing the meth with it. I have noticed the infection getting worse and im scared. I want to start taking the perscription now but i hav just used meth this morning. Is it safe to mix the two?

Brief Answer:
You must must antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
You simply must take antibiotics, there is no doubt about it and meth should not interact with it significantly. This is serious infection and should be treated. Considering your description, you should add another antibiotic, such as metronidazole or see doctor for reevaluation and consider intravenous antibiotics. Your should not be kidding with this. Wish you good health. Regards
