Suggest Treatment For Infection Of The Cornea
Question: Eye infection in cornea - I'm a contact lens user for past 20 years. I use a monthly disposable lens. I'm currently on vacation in UK and have a week more to return. But I've developed a sore ( similar to mouth ulcer) in my eyelid , red eyes and dark greyish line around my cornea. I used a fresh lens last week only. Now I've stopped wearing the lens and don't have a replacement. My symptoms look similar to keratisis and read that it needs immediate attention and no OTC eye drops. Please suggest some immediate solution till I get back to XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
It could be limbal keratitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I read through the question and view the pictures.
It looks like an infection of the cornea. You have limbal keratitis with the use of contact lens.
There is a need to use antibiotic eye drops if you can find it over there. Good that you are not continuing the contact lens. At this time I would suggest you to meet a local GP doctor to prevent complications keratoconjunctivitis and uveitis. You can use lubricant drops which are available over the counter.
Wear sun glasses to prevent further injury
