Suggest Treatment For Inflamed Skin On Penis And Foreskin

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Feb 2015
Question: My penis head and foreskin has become inflamed or infected last week.
I had sex with my girl friend in late December and used a condom,
but I never had any allergy to latex condom or anything.

I can see some red spots on the penis head and the skin seems dry and scaly,
I tried to leave it clean and XXXXXXX it dry after shower for a few days but the red spots are still there,
I don't particularly feel itchy most of the time and it's not painful.

For now the only reason I could think of, is that I might be washing my underwear not clean enough as I reminded myself I put quite a lot of powder in the coin wash machine 1-2 days before I realised my penis is inflamed.

Im just wodering if derm aid (hydrocortisone 1%) cream would be helpful to reduce the inflammation or I should look for other treatment?

I don't see any blisters and I washed my penis daily (soap free)

As requested this is the picture I took 30 minutes ago, the penis seems not that red after I applied the hydrocoritsone 1% cream for about 8 hours.

It was the first time I apply the cream I am not sure if it can really heal me or anything.

Again, I do not feel particularly itchy, only sometimes, and I don't feel sore or painful at all, not painful during urination nor painful when I touch it or take a shower.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
It is looking like an allergic reaction.
Latex allergy can develop at any time in life.
Also enquire with your partner if she used any chemical in vaginal area.
This might have caused allergy in you.
It's good that you are using cortisone cream.
Just apply it for 7 days you will get relieved.
Let me know if you have any other doubts .
thank you

Hi Doctor, thank you very much. As far as I know, the hydrocortisone cream may thin skin, so, in case if it is not healed after 7 days, what cream or treatment will most likely have the best result?

Im wondering how to apply the cream as well, as instructed i should apply twice a day, does it mean morning and night? I'm just worrying if I leave the cream on my skin too long I will make it worse. Thanks

Brief Answer:
It is safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Hydrocortisone is very mild and hence will not cause damage to skin.
Instead of twice just apply it once in night and leave it over night.
Don't worry it is safe.
After 7 days just apply aloe Vera cream.
Thank you
