My tongue and teeth turned black and there is slight improvement in the knee area .Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Do icing and continue medicines as advised.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through the reports attached. It seems that you had developed cellulitis (infection) of calf muscle. For this reason some investigations like ESR and CRP is raised. Now it seems to be controlled. Do icing to reduce the inflammation.
Your treatment plan is in right direction. Continue taking febutaz for uric acid and other medicines as advised by your orthopadician.
Hope this helps you.
Warm regards.

Why is the tongue black still and the persistance of warmth on the knee and with the latest reports there is an increase in values of ESR and CRP. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Could be due to the effect of medication.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for late reply.
Black tongue could be due to the effect of medication . Persistence of warmth on the knee and increase in values of ESR and CRP indicates inflammation. It could be due to high uric acid level.
Warm regards.

How much walking is permissible with cellulitis? What is the diet recommendation to reduce uric acid ? Thanks a lot.
Brief Answer:
You can walk for your daily activities.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You can walk for your daily activities.
Food to be avoided in diet includes –meat and poultry. The most abundant source of purines are the full range of meats: beef, pork, poultry, fish and other seafood. Organ meats are especially high in purines and should be avoided completely on a gout diet.
When reducing meat, get protein from other sources including low-fat dairy, eggs and plant-based sources such as beans, legumes, soybeans and whole grains.
Alcohol reduces the ability of your body to excrete uric acid via the kidneys and urine.
Increase your daily intake of water. As the water is turned into urine, it carries uric acid out of your body.
The fiber in fruits, vegetables and whole grains may also help carry excess uric acid out of your body.
Wishing you speedy recovery....
