Suggest Treatment For Inner Ear Infection And Vertigo
I went to ER few days ago with dizziness, the room was spinning around me. I was in the ER within
10 min. Dr. diagnosed as inner ear infection and Vertigo. I was given many test with the thought I might
have suffered a stroke or heart attack. Test came fine, they also gave me Cat-Scan. Dr. said, No stroke
or heart attack. Could it have been TIA.
Thank you.
Dizziness, inner ear vestibular cause. Not TIA
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. DIzziness with no history of body or facial weakness , no visual loss or reduction for the time is unlikely a TIA.
What you had was mor elikely a vestibular effect of inner ear infection and very common sequelae of old age.
Apart from it you use vasotec / Enalapril that too causes dizziness.
Nutshell treat it as inner ear infection, some antibiotics, some antiverts or any other dizziness medication you have been prescribed with, betahistine also work fine. Head positioning maneuvers like epley's maneuvers etc also help the balance. Balance therapy and psychotherapy are some other options.
Meanwhile keep your house fall proof, lie down or sit down immediately the moment you feel dizzy, avoid coffee, tobacco or alcohol etc, drink enough fluids, eat healthy diet and sleep adequate. Dizziness will take a couple of weeks to resolve.
i hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
