Suggest Treatment For Insomnia And Anxiety

Question: Hi,

I have anxiety symptoms for a while due to severe stress,for which I have been prescribed Betacap TR 20 for palpitations and Clonazepam.While my stress has reduced, I also have insomnia at night for which i have been asked to take Zolfresh 5mg.

Can you advise whether Zolfresh is better or Clonazepam.

Betacap TR 20 is a good drug for control of anxiety symptoms. If we consider Zolfresh and Clonazepam for management of insomnia then in my opinion both drugs are good.

Zolfresh helps in early insomnia and thus help for sleep onset. The drug is relatively safer in terms of abuse potential and doesn't have much risk of dependence

Clonazepam is relatively longer acting and is a sedative hypnotic drug. The drug helps in sleep onset and also helps to manage sleep. The drug if used regularly for long might increase risk of dependence and has abuse potential.

Thanks for your inputs.

Have started taking Zolfresh 5mg (half) , Iam feeling slightly dizzy.

Is taking Zolfresh be a reason..

Yes the drug might result in slight dizziness for first few days of starting the treatment. The dizziness will reduce by own in coming days.

One final question..Still feeling dizzy.can I stop Zolfresh and take Restyl 0.25 for sleep and anxiety.

Yes you can take the drug is also a rapid acting drug and will help to result in reduction of anxiety and good sleep.

You can stop Zolfresh and can take 0.25-0.5 mg Restyl.
