Brief Answer:
please try non medicated steps first

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

There are both medicated and non medicated steps..I think you would like to try non medicated methods initially.

You can do the following and these steps should help you get a good sleep to a large extent-

1. Try not to sleep or lie down during day time at all.
2. Cut down (stop ) consuming tea/ coffee etc., after 3-4pm.
3. Try to reduce intake of water after 6pm - this will help in reducing urge to urinate while trying to sleep.
4. Get a walk before meals (& not after meals).
5. Donot take heavy meals like high protein diet or very spicy food in dinner.
6. You may take a warm bath before sleeping or just soak your legs in XXXXXXX warm water- this is quite helpful in relaxing the body.
7. Most important-- donot work on computer or XXXXXXX if you are unable to sleep: you should however read a book...
8. Stop taking ciggarette or alcohol (if you use any if them - as they stimulate the brain).
9. Also, try to fix time for going to sleep and getting up- donot continue to lie down when unable to sleep; leave the bed and read a book or listen to music.

Please try these methods- they are most widely recommended and researched ones and see if they help you too.

Good luck.
