Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Pain In The Stomach And Loose Stool?

Question: Dear dr,

I had a on and off pain in my stomach. It come and go. Sometime feeling the urge to go to the loo. I had some loose stools but I'm very sure there wasn't any food poisoning. Sometimes it feels like cramp, it doesn't feel better after emptying bowels. And to add on there was no fever or vomit apart from stomach discomfort

Appetite is normal. Lotsa stomach gas though. Pls advise

Are you losing weight?

No blood in stools. About 3 days . No weight loss appetite normal . No medical issues
Passing gas is smelly

Hi,
Thanks for the additional information.
You have short duration loose stools with abdominal cramps.
This could be due to acute colitis probably due to stomach bug.

Stool analysis may be done for confirmation.

You will get benefited by a course of antibiotics ( ciprofloxacin and metronidazole). Probiotic supplements may be taken.
For relief from painful cramps you can take Bentyl along with tylenol.
