Suggest Treatment For Intertrigo Around The Coccyx Area
Question: My girl jus had this around her tail bone
Brief Answer:
Seems to be intertrigo, steroid antibiotic cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds.
If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to apply steroid and antibiotic cream like cortisone cream and neosporin ointment on the affected areas twice daily for 10-14 days.
If it is associated with itching or burning she can take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
Ask her to wear cotton underwear, stay in cool airy environment, avoid prolonged sitting and strenuous activity.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
