Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods Caused By Tri-previfem Intake
Question: Hello, I had a question about birth control pills. For the last 3 months I was taking tri-previfem. I had the normal side effects (nothing bad). However, on the 4th month I noticed that 10 days after I got married that I started bleeding. I was a virgin when I got married. The bleeding lasted for 3 weeks. I was adviced to switched over to Zarah or keep trying tri-previfem for the next two months. I just finished taking my 3 week (blue pill) and should start taking the placebo pill today meaning no pill (suppose to be my period). But I just stop bleeding 4 days ago and I noticed that I am spotting again. Do I wait a week and start taking tri-previfem, or do I start taking tri-previfem week 1 today? Or should I take Zarah? Thank you, for all your help.
Brief Answer:
Stop both pills for a month
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concerns.
Your periods have become irregular due to the pills. This is because the pills affect your hormones.
I will advise you to stop both the medicines for a month so that it gives time to your body to normalize the hormones .
Once you start geting your periods regularly you can start a low dose birth pill again.
Till that time i will advise you to use other methods of contraception like condoms.
