Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods

Question: Hi,
i am having irregular periods from past few months.I recently checked a doctor & she said post scanning that its PCOS & prescribed Susten 200 1 tab every night & once i get my periods within 7days to stop & start having metatil tablet from the 2nd day of the period & also ovaral-L ..

I have no lue about these tablets & the purpose.i by mistake had metatil & susten 200 i stil din get my periods...can some one tell me is their a danger or harm due to our negliegnece

well on the tablet its Metital - myo inositol & metformin mentioned have no more details on the drug contains apart from this..

Nice to hear from you once again.

PCOD actually a very common endocrine disorder at your age and usually patients suffering from this disorder having irregular menstrual period, infertility, acne, weight gain, facial hair growth etc.

Usually in PCOS patients androgen( male hormone ) are high, absence of ovulation, insulin resistance are there.

So in basic term deficiency of female sex hormone and increase level of male sex hormone.

So basically drugs are usually given in PCOS to induce ovulation and maintain hormonal imbalance and antidiabetic drug( minamitol) to make body more sensitive to insulin hormone.

Susten is usually a progesterone hormone and give it to you to maintain its level because if ovulation does not occur it causes progesterone deficiency.

Ovaral- L is a combined contraceptive pill to regulate your cycle.

Minamitol is an anti diabetic drug and increased sensitivity of insulin and decrease its resistance, so helpful to control sugar level, improve ovulation, reduce weight.

So taking these two drug together is not causing any harm.

So do not take any stress and continue your drugs as prescribed.

Lifestyle changes are also very effective in PCOS treatment.

now what do i do shall i from today follow what doctor actully prescribed me .

That is to have only susten 200gms tablet till i get my menstrual period & then start having metatil & ovaral-L tablet.

Was worried because i started off to have metatil without having my cycle started & the doctor was very particular when she said to have susten & start metatil on the 2nd day of my periods along with ovaral - L tablet.

And she said on the second month 5th day of my cycle to come down to get HGC test done & 3rd month asked one of us to take off & plan accordingly.

i have had susten & metatil now for 7 days & yet have not got my menstruation what do i do doctor.on XXXXXXX one of the doctor post all analysis had given me a tablet for get my periods & i jst got my cycle on very next day of the 1st tablet taken...but here i hve no signs of my periods

May I ask what is your last period date?
Its on 27th feb

How much delay in this cycle?
46 days

Ultrasound scan done on which date?
6th Apr morning i.e on 38th day.

Are there a chance of pregnancy?
doctor din speak about pregnancy at all post scanning,she said its poly cyst..

Have you done your home urine pregnancy test?
no not yet..coz this period delay i notice from last year everytime i do its negative & in the scanning that i did XXXXXXX 2015 also was negative & doctor said post all the tests that i need to loose weight & do family planing alternative days ..

In my opinion first you should resume your menses and than only you can start treatment as advice by your treating doctor( or you can consult your doctor for the same).

For that you can take sustan tablet as advised before.
