Suggest Treatment For Itching And Burning Sensation In Vagina
Question: I am feeling itching and burning sensation in my vagina and lower abdominal pain before 10 days of my periods. after pap smear check it was found positive for T. vaginilis. Accordingly i had given metronidazole 400 for 7 days & clingen fort vaginal capsule. Still having 1 to 2 times the same treatment recurrent itching is occuring after applying mupirocin ointment itching goes away but lot of burning occurs after 2,3 days i'm appling V-wash during bath but still continuous itching & burning is not going. How do i get rid of this. pap smear was done again after 2-3 months which is showing positive for T.vaginilis. So I took longer dose of metrogyl i.e for 15 days but no remedy, after insertion of clingen forte next day itching has increased. Kindly help and suggest.
Brief Answer:
It could be due to resistance of metronidazole.
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
It could be due to resistance to metronidazole.
In that case you should consult a Gynecologist and get yourself examined once again and took tinidazole instead of metronidazole.
Your partner should be examined once again to rule out other infective pathology and took treatment accordingly.
For itching you can take one single dose of antifungal drug, antihistaminic and apply candid-b ointment.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
