Suggest Treatment For Itching And Inflammation Of The Scrotum
Question: I have a very itchy scrotum in one area where the scrotum skin is inflamed and swollen - the itchiness is intermittent but can be very uncomfortable. The area of inflamation is probably 1cm in diameter and can become so swollen as to be very raised and prominent.
Brief Answer:
Can you send an image for review?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Am so sorry to hear about this itch around the scrotum and the uncomfortable nature. To be of most help, it would be necessary to obtain an image of this area an d review. This way, I can provide a personalized and helpful response as opposed to a generic one.

Hello,
I've now uploaded three pictures that show the red area as well as the area that becomes itchy and inflamed. You can see that the surface skin also drys out and flakes off which is when it it most itchy.
Thanks

Hello,
Are you confident this is only fungal? Would a fungal infection cause the skin to swell, become puffy and really itchy and then flake off? It's also only focused on a small concentrated area that becomes inflamed and raised.
What else could be the cause?

Brief Answer:
Am confident it’s fungal for now!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Am confident its fungal. Your symptoms and image are most suggestive of that. I will say apply the medications and if things seem not to improve, only then will i question if that could be related to something else. Its presentation and description are not in support of a bacterial infection.
Again, apply the medication and keep me posted on the developments.
