Suggest Treatment For Itching In The Anal Area

Question: I've been having anal itching issues and it usually happens after I have a bowel movement, use tp, and then as the day persists, the rectal/anal area starts to itch. And it only stops when I take a shower and clean the area with shower water. But resumes after the next bowel movement, and so on and so forth. So 1st question is am I talking to the right specialist? Also have you ever heard of this issue? And what can I do to help it?
Brief Answer:
seems like a local irritation to feces or excessive sweat
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist).
I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
Perianal itching in your case could be due to irritation to feces, specially if you are wiping the area with tp Or it could also be due to excessive sweating in that area which makes the skin sensitive and encourages itching.
I suggest you to use water (water jet) instead of tissue paper everytime after a bowel movement so as to throughly clean that area. In addition you may use a mild topical steroid cream e.g cortisone cream for a few days to resolve the irritation.
