Suggest Treatment For Itching In The Groin Area

Question: I have been getting very itchy In the genital area and under my stomach and groin areas to the the point that I scratch my genitals area to the point that my skin splits and when I put cream on it , it burns like hell. what could this be and how can I get rid of it please.

Hello and thanks for your question.
It sounds like you have a fungal (yeast) infection. The clotrimazole cream is an antifungal and it should get rid of the infection. It would work better if you could apply it at least 2 times a day. It may take several weeks to work. If that is not possible then you may want to ask your doctor for an antifungal medication to take by mouth. These medications are more complicated and your doctor would need to check liver functions before beginning an oral antifungal tablet. It is much better just to use the yeast cream, but try to use it 2-3 times a day for several weeks. If it does not clear up, see your doctor again.
