Suggest Treatment For Itching On The Face
Question: I have been having trouble with itching on my face. I thought it had to do with an allergy to shellfish but it has now happened and I have not eaten any shellfish in a month. Does this possibly have anything to menopause? I am 60 and have never had any allergies. My other question is a cortisone cream the best thing for relief? I just read about tricalm. Is this effective?
Brief Answer:
Tricalm is okay short term
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
It would be good to find out what is causing the itching. Has your doctor checked blood tests on you. Sometimes liver or kidney problems can result in itching. If it is allergies try an antihistamine. Steroid creams like tricalm are okay used short term, like for 2 weeks, but should not be used long term as they can thin the skin and cause further problems. Use a good moisturizer daily, take a multivitamin and make sure you are drinking plenty of water every day.
Good luck and I hope this clears up soon.
