Suggest Treatment For Itchy Blisters In Between Toes
Question: On Aug 5, I went for a walk in the woods. Wearing long pants, socks and hiking boots. Got foliage in tops of boots. later when I took boots off , difficult to take socks off. black spects (like pepper) attached to top of foot .Lots of pain and burning. tried to remove spects with tweezers but too many. maybe several hundred. I am older and cannot reach or bend to see outside of feet. Called and saw dr. he gave antibiotic pills and ointment. rash spread up body. went to ER. received prednisone. went barefoot for next week. some clearing. Went on SAREX (search and rescue exercise) last weekend. wore shoes and socks to drive up (6 hrs) and wore shoes and socks (no boots) sat -- switched to crocks in aft due to discomfort. tooks shoes off in camp in evening and found blisters poking up between several toes . many other 'spots' are blistered. Drove home barefoot. Feet are NOT happy today. Benadryl cream not helping. put mupirocin ointment between toes (blisters broke).. ankles/feet burn. NOW WHAT???
Brief Answer:
Broad spectrum antibiotic regimen
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read through the query and found that all was properly done but still there are blisters between toes. Although I would not be able to say the reason for blisters without picture and proper visualization of the spects.
I advise you to visit the same doctor and ask for broad spectrum antibiotic like Doxycycline for at least a week unless contraindicated.
I suggest you not to go out even in to the farm / garden till the blisters are healed.
An antiseptic cream/ointment may be continuously applied over those blistered and leave it for the air without bandage.
Hope this answers what next.
